MACC is not against the police, says advisory board
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is not against the police, but against corruption, said the commission's advisory board. “The Advisory Board wishes to make it clear that the MACC operations being carried out are against all forms of corruption in society as a whole, and it is wrong for anyone to suggest that the police service is being specially targeted. “The fight is against corruption in government, business and politics,” said the board's chairperson Tunku Abdul Aziz Tunku Ibrahim in a media statement. On the same note, he added that for every corrupt policeman of whatever rank or designation, there are thousands of the men and women in blue who carry out their thankless, and often dangerous, duties cheerfully, in strict observance of their oath of service in the public interest.
